To take advantage of the superior graphics, performance and feature availability with the OpenBVE programme it was felt that, rather than "upgrade" IWR, a new route was called for.
I wanted to have a variety of branchline–mainline–suburbanline running, enough variety of stations to stop or pass, a long enough length of track to allow Irish maximum speed running in places (around 95mph) all within a route that could be completed in about an hour at the most. Obviously it would not do to copy a real route as that would be too long in distance and time. So the Ballyfeckin and Waterville was designed.
Ballyfeckin, think of a quiet-ish town in the west, on a single track line. Depart from here to a large town destination, a Galway or Cork sort of place. And in between the line increases in importance to a dual track line and even three tracks as it comes closer to the city.
The Waterville Port extension line now included in the Ballyfeckin route download. Extra passenger routes plus a container freight from Ballyfeckin to the docks, over 64km non-stop.
Downloads now include the new Killavalley Branch route. If you have recently obtained the Ballyfeckin v2 files you only need to download the latest Route files to add the Kilavalley Branch line, the objects are already there. If you still have older v2 object files you may need to download the latest ones.
